The UK's George Harliono has been named as one of the 15 finalists of the I International Competition for Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition, organized by renowned Russian pianist Denis Matsuev.
Young talents (aged 11-16) from Russia, Georgia, China, Japan, Belarus and Korea will compete for the grand prize - a Yamaha AvantGrand piano.
The contest will be held from April 30 to May 4 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The five contestants who receive highest scores will be awarded the title of Laureate, while the rest of the participants will be given a diploma.

Composed of eminent musicians, the jury includes: piano pedagogue Arie Vardi (Israel), Artistic Director of the "Irish Camerata" orchestra Barry Douglas (Great Britain); Professor and Dean of the piano faculty at the London Royal College of Music, Vanessa Latarche; Professor of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory Valery Pyasetsky, and professor of the National University in Seoul Hyun-Joong Chang (Republic of Korea).
