Around 800,000 women fought at the frontline during the Great Patriotic War, and every one of them is worthy of a separate narrative. These photos are about those who took part in clandestine raids and partisan units. Among the women were pilots, combat medics, signalers, anti-aircraft gunners, snipers, machine-gunners, car and tank drivers, medical officers, field service workers and HQ staff. // Sports training at the Red Army's Kamenev sanatorium in Saki, Crimea. 1935-1938.
