Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the largest petrochemical plants in Europe. It leads the Russian Federation in the production of synthetic rubber and plastics. Its primary production facilities are located in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. The company was established in 1967.

The amount of known oil reserves in Tatarstan are sufficient to continue producing at today's levels for at least another 30 years. Further geological surveying projects and the introduction of new methods to increase mine output will make it possible to extend this period by several more decades.

TAIF-NK owns an oil refinery, a gasoline production plant, and a gas condensate refinery. It produces gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, vacuum gas oil, butane-butylene mixture, and propane/propylene.

In the first half of 2014, TAIF-NK processed 4,453 tons of raw materials, including 3,929 tons of oil and 524 tons of gas condensate.

Currently, the volume of the oil refinery’s output is approximately 8 million tons. When the refinery was first opened in 2011, the target was to refine 7 million tons. Now, regional authorities plan to gradually increase production to 14 million tons of oil per year.
