Star Wars characters if they were Soviet soldiers fighting Nazis

Personas from the world’s greatest saga as WWII heroes.
By Yaroslav Cohen

There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of fan fictions about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, so I've also decided to look at its main characters with my own eyes and use a bit of a different approach. What if the Star Wars events unfolded not in a galaxy far far away, but in the recent past – during World War II with the Empire as the Axis and the Rebels as the Allies. I think you can figure out the rest.

Here are 7 central characters from the new movie presented as Soviet soldiers.

Chewbacca — of course he's an ace pilot, perhaps with just a bit of a shady past. But he's doing what he can to fight off troops from the dark side of the Force.

Finn is a former Axis stormtrooper that deserted and joined the Soviet partisans to fight against the Nazis.

BB-8 is a great helper when you need to establish a communication line. This sneaky device has the capabilities to move on different terrains and through varying weather conditions.

Poe Dameron is a commander in the Soviet Air Force with dozens of destroyed enemy aircrafts under his belt.

Rey is a brave sniper, who is capable of not only finishing foes, but of also getting herself out of dangerous situations.

Han Solo and Leia are a divorced couple, who just might be facing the toughest foe on the front. If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean.
