Fast and furious: Moscow Central Ring changing the map of Moscow transport

The Russian capital’s new transport network, the Moscow Central Ring, opened on Sept. 10.

The Moscow Central Ring, an equivalent of Germany’s S-Bahn and the London Overground, opened in the Russian capital on Sept. 10. New carriages, equipped with free Wi-Fi, are able to transport up to 400,000 passengers daily, which makes it possible to reduce the load on the Moscow subway network – the Moscow metro – by 15 percent and cut an average journey by 20 minutes.
