Follow the link to learn moreFive people were arrested on Moscow's Red Square on Sunday for an attempt to hold an anti-homophobic demonstration without obtaining permission from the authorities and were taken to a police station to be charged, according to rights group OVDinfo, which monitors arrests during mass events.
OVDinfo gave the detainees' names in a statement on its website.
The city police authority also reported the five arrests. However, it told Interfax the reason were "violations of public order" and did not elaborate.
