Follow the link to learn moreNikolai Alexeyev, a campaigner for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights, said on Instagram that he had been arrested during a gay pride parade in central Moscow on Saturday that had gone ahead despite the authorities' refusal to allow it.
The city police authority declined to comment on Alexeyev's alleged arrest.
Some of the parade participants came to blows with anti-LGBT protesters, but police arrested all those involved in the scuffle. Fifteen people were arrested after a scuffle between two groups of people during a gay pride parade in Moscow on Saturday.
"Moscow police cut short a conflict between two groups of people in the central part of the city. Fifteen people were taken to a police station," a spokesman for the city police authority told Interfax, adding that the detainees might face minor penalties.

Organizers had requested permission for the parade from the authorities but were refused. Nevertheless, the event went ahead in central Moscow.
