The 38 billion cubic meters of gas that Gazprom will export to China each year on the Power of Siberia pipeline under the 30-year contract with CNPC is sufficient for China and no additional gas from independent Russian producers is needed, Gazprom Deputy Chief Executive Vitaly Markelov told the gas giant's in-house journal.

Asked whether Gazprom planned to export gas from independents on the Power of Siberia pipeline, Markelov said, “In the event there is interest on the Chinese side, we are able to increase the volume of exports on this route.”
