The ceasefire in Syria can contribute to the settlement in the country, but the key task is drawing the line between the moderate opposition and terrorist groups, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sept. 14.

"Of course, it (the ceasefire) gives hope that it will contribute to a peaceful settlement and create the necessary atmosphere for a political settlement," he said, adding that "so far the ceasefire is very fragile."

"The key task now is to wait until the line is drawn between the moderate opposition and terrorist groups," Peskov said. "This is a key task, without which further progress is hardly possible."
