Most Russians say they are happy, according to a new survey by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (FOM).
In the recent poll, the majority of members of all socio-demographic categories agreed that they were happy, although younger people and people with higher incomes are generally “more optimistic” than older people and those earning less.
When asked what makes them happy, Russians cite family (20 percent), children (20 percent), “a good job” (14 percent), health (13 percent) and wellbeing (13 percent).
The survey was conducted among 1,600 respondents over 18 living in 130 cities and towns across Russia from Nov. 5-6.
