Follow the link to learn moreThe State Duma Council ruled on Thursday that the parliamentarians will consider depriving the Just Russia party faction member Gennady Gudkov of his parliamentary mandate at a session on Friday, a Duma Council source told Interfax.
"The question of Gudkov will be considered on Friday," a parliamentarian who took part in the Duma Council session said.
Ivan Grachev, a member of A Just Russia, said after walking out of the room where the Duma Council was proceeding, confirmed that "Gudkov's issue will be considered on Friday."
The Duma decided to consider depriving Gudkov of his parliamentary mandate after law enforcement agencies said they found out that he was involved in business activities, which is incompatible with parliamentary status.
The leaders of the United Russia and Liberal-Democratic Party factions said they would vote for terminating Gudkov's mandate, while A Just Russia and the Communist Party are categorically against this.
