"The British woman was freed ..., and the resident of the village of Klyavkino, detained with her, has just been released. Both were charged with pasting up notices in unauthorized places, which is an administrative offence," regional police spokesman Sergei Goldshtein told Interfax.
Earlier reports said that activists were detained in Samara last night "for pasting up political leaflets. "Rights campaigners claimed a British citizen and her friend had been pasting up antifascist leaflets urging readers to boycott a Russian March.
An authorized Russian March began in Samara's Kirovsky district at 11 a.m. on Nov. 4. Organizers claimed about 1,000 participants would join the march.
