Putin says Israel, Palestinians should resume talks

President Vladimir Putin has reiterated Russia's position that talks are the only way to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"The president [Israeli President Shimon Peres] and I share the realization of the need to resolve chronic conflicts. Primarily the Arab-Israeli conflict, and dialogue is the only way to settle it. Russia calls on the parties to the conflict to resume this dialogue," Putin told reporters after meeting with Peres on Thursday.
