Midsummer snowfall hits Siberia’s Yakutia

The central parts of Yakutia, Russia’s largest region in eastern Siberia, was blanketed by a midsummer snowfall with night temperatures falling to minus two degrees Celsius, local meteorologists said on July 13.

Residents of some Yakutia towns are making snowmen, local officials said.

Average July temperatures in Yakutia vary between 11 and 25 degrees Celsius.
