The "average payment" for traffic violations in Moscow was 659 rubles ($10.44) in August 2016. According to Yandex's press service, this is the average amount internet users paid for traffic fines via the company’s online payment service. About 70 percent of fines are paid within twenty days after being cited for the traffic violation, notably because there is a 50 percent discount for prompt payment, the Kolesa.ru website writes.
Throughout Russia overall, the average fine for traffic violations was about 600 rubles ($9.50) in August. The average fine in St. Petersburg was 504 rubles ($8).
