This facility has become a breakthrough for the pipe industry, receiving the title “White Coated Metallurgy”.

This new, modern plant designed to produce large-diameter “Vysota 239” pipes was inaugurated in July 2010. After reaching full capacity in 2011, the plant is now capable of producing 900,000 tons of large-diameter pipes per year, which will increase the annual production volume of this kind of pipe at ChelPipe up to 1.35 million tons.

239 is the altitude in meters of the geographic point where plant is located, which corresponds to the altitude of the southern part of the Ural Ridge above sea level. It also happens to be the highest location for such
production in Russia.

The plant is 720 meters long. It is interesting for its design elements, which can be described as bold, unexpected, and outstanding. Approximately 21 billion rubles were invested in constructing the plant and purchasing equipment.

As a result of using the newest technologies, ChelPipe’s “White Coated Metallurgy” disproves one of the most persistent stereotypes from the past that working with metal is traditionally associated with “black”, dirty production. This is precisely because the company’s employees work in snow-white protective clothing in order to emphasize the high culture of manufacturing.
