Within the framework of the Ninth Moscow International Biennale "Fashion and Style in Photography 2015," Moscow Multimedia Art Museum presents an exhibition entitled "Black Dwarf" by Russian photographer Petr Lovigin.

"I picked up the story from my favorite romance by Alexander Vertinsky called "Black Dwarf." I was thinking it over for a long time, trying to adapt the idea to my art and events from my own personal life," says the photographer.

Alexander Vertinsky was a Russian and Soviet artist, poet, singer, composer and actor, whose songs were sung by various singers all over the world.

The photographer made up his own interpretation of the famous romance: the Black Dwarf reveals to the Princess all the fantasies, dreams, heroes and images of his fictional world.

According to these stories, they are stored in a chest inside a little red stereobox, where episodes of this fantastic world come to life as slides. However, the Princess does not understand these stories; they are strange to her.

One day the Dwarf understands that all his efforts are pointless and there is no sense in trying to open the eyes of someone who simply cannot see. After that he leaves the Princess alone and vanishes into his imaginary world.

And as soon as the image disappears from the screen, so too does the life of the Princess empty away.
