Every year the number of motorcyclists in Moscow continues to grow. Fans of this mode of transport fear neither the risks, the weather conditions, nor even the unique driving “culture” of Moscow.

RBTH spent one day with colleague and biker Kolya in order to understand what makes him and tens of thousands of Muscovites every summer forgo the relative comfort and safety of the motorcar in favor of two wheels. Spoiler alert — it’s the adrenaline!

We went to a city festival marking the close of the motorcycle season, which always attracts hundreds of motorcyclists every year. The motorcycle season in Moscow last 5-6 months, so few riders miss this last opportunity to get out on the road before the cold snap.
