Russia seeks to supply EU with organic foods
Russia and EU move toward simplified visa regime
An informal dinner of Russian and EU leaders has opened the Russia-EU Yekaterinburg summit. Syria, energy cooperation and visa issues will be in the focus of the summit's attention.
Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted EU Council President Herman van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton at the entrance to the Maly Istok Residence. The informal dinner started.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters before the summit that the informal conversation of the leaders would touch upon the global economy, the economic situation in Russia and the European Union and the G20 activity in the context of Russian chairmanship.
The official program of the summit is due on Tuesday.
