Follow the link to learn moreA WWII-era shell found in central Moscow has been removed by officials from the military commandant's office for disposal, the press service for the Interior Ministry's Main Department for Moscow told Interfax.
The police earlier received a report stating that an object resembling a combat shell had been found at Moscow's Bolshaya Dmitrovka 34. The location was immediately cordoned off by police for security reasons.
The mine disposal experts who came to the scene uncovered a WWII-era shell had been found in the ground during construction work.
"The shell was removed by the military commandant's office for disposal. Bolshaya Dmitrovka and the nearby side streets have been reopened to traffic," the press service for the Interior Ministry's Main Department for Moscow told Interfax.
