Follow the link to learn moreThe lawyer of convicted Pussy Riot punk band member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova asked the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to assist in the meeting of lawyers and their client.
"Lawyer Irina Khrunova has asked the ECHR to take preliminary measures in order to assist a meeting of Tolokonnikova with her lawyers," the press office of the Agora association, providing legal assistance to Tolokonnikova, told Interfax.
The defense has not been able to meet with Tolokonnikova since September 26, the press office said.
On September 23, Tolokonnikova went on hunger strike, saying she had received death threats. The Investigations Department of the Investigations Committee for Mordovia ordered a probe into the information presented in her statement.
On September 29, the defense lawyers for Tolokonnikova said they had not been able to contact her for three days. Tolokonnikova's husband Pyotr Verzilov later said his wife had been transferred from the colony to a hospital.
The Federal Penitentiary Service confirmed Tolokonnikova's transfer to a hospital on September 30.
