Follow the link to learn moreAn Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft belonging to the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has delivered 25 tonnes of food to Latakia for Syrian civilians suffering from the internal armed conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Another Russian humanitarian operation has been carried out with relevant security measures provided by the Syrian authorities," it said.
"Russia will continue providing the necessary humanitarian aid to the friendly Syrian people both through special international organizations and in a bilateral format and will also provide assistance to Russian citizens permanently living in Syria and wishing to temporarily leave the country for security reasons," it said.
Russian plans to allocate more than $3 million in 2013 for humanitarian supplies intended for Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said. Russia spent over $7 million on humanitarian aid for Syria last year, he said. Read more>>>
