Follow the link to learn moreA referendum on the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has been moved from March 30 to March 16, a source from the Crimean Council of Ministers told Interfax.
The Crimean Supreme Council made the decision on Thursday.
The source told Interfax that Crimean residents would decide whether Crimea would become a constituent of the Russian Federation and whether the 1992 Crimean constitution would be reinstated.
Crimean Supreme Council Chairman Volodymyr Konstantynov announced the possible shift of the referendum date earlier.
