Makiyivka coal miners rally in DPR's support

A rally in support of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic was held by coal miners in the town of Makiyivka, Donetsk region, on Friday, an Interfax correspondent said.

A rally in support of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic was held by coal miners in the town of Makiyivka, Donetsk region, on Friday, an Interfax correspondent said.

The mine workers marched towards the center of Makiyivka, chanting: "Donetsk Republic," "Donbas and Crimea united." They were carrying flags of the DPR, the Donbas Volunteer Militia and flags with the word "Rus" which is the name of the ancient Russia.

Several hundred people took part in the rally. Activists said the mine workers took to the streets to express their protest against the special security operation held in Donetsk and its region.
