"The work [preparations to open refugee shelters] is underway in all constituent territories. More than a thousand shelters may open if necessary," he told reporters on Friday answering a question about the possible deployment of additional refugee shelters in Russia.
He said information about the number of refugees each particular region could receive and the number of refugee shelters it could open was being updated.
Ukrainian citizens should be resettled consistent with their wishes and needs, the deputy minister noted. "This is an important issue, which must be considered before the decisions are made," he said.
