Officers of Gukovo highway customs checkpoint in Rostov region have been evacuated due to shelling on the side of Ukraine.

Officers of Gukovo highway customs checkpoint in Rostov region have been evacuated due to shelling on the side of Ukraine.

"At 6:30 a.m. on Sunday officials from Gukovo customs post were evacuated due to the explosion of shells near the border with Ukraine," the press service of the Southern Customs Department reports.

By now the customs officers have returned to their working places, the press service says. The shelling did not cause any damage or injury.

Neither people, nor vehicles are checked at Novoshakhtinsk, Gukovo or Kuibyshevo posts today due to the suspension of the operation of customs posts on the Ukrainian side.
