"There will be no peacekeeping troops because the experience of using peacekeepers in Transdniestria and other frozen conflicts has led to states losing sovereignty over such territories. There will be no peacekeepers in Ukraine," Poroshenko told a press conference in Kiev on Thursday.
He was responding to a question where there is any sense in considering introducing peacekeeping troops in Donbas.
He recalled that the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM) has been increased to monitor the situation in eastern Ukraine.
"Today there are already 500 inspectors from this mission working in Ukraine," Poroshenko added.
