Follow the link to learn moreRussian scientists have been tasked to achieve national technological independence in various fields in the upcoming years, Kremlin administration chief Sergei Ivanov stated.
"In the upcoming years, domestic scientists will be resolving very complicated tasks, primarily, attaining technological independence of the nation in most important, critical areas of industries, infrastructure, medicine and the defense sector," said Ivanov, speaking at the 2014 Science and Innovations Award ceremony for young researchers.
The country needs domestic technologies which will improve quality of life, first and foremost in the field of ecology, food and medicine, Ivanov said.
"Despite the ongoing economic problems, we will not abandon our development or investment in our future, investment in human capital, science, education, new technologies and industries, and self-actualization of people," he said.
