Follow the link to learn moreEuropean Council President Donald Tusk said on Sunday that he would start consultations on February 23 with the European Union leaders on the prospect of expanding sanctions against Russia.
Tusk said after viewing an exhibition in Kiev, titled, "Presence. Evidence of Russian military aggression in Ukraine," that he would hold consultations on Monday on broader anti-Russian sanctions "in connection with the aggression."
Tusk also emphasized the importance of monitoring the observance of the ceasefire along the border.
Asked whether a police mission was at issue, he said, "possibly."
Tusk and other foreign officials arrived in Kyiv on Sunday to join the March of Dignity.
He had announced earlier that he was holding consultations with the leaders of the EU countries in connection with the escalation of the situation in Ukraine.
