Follow the link to learn moreRussian President Vladimir Putin has extended his condolences to the Kenyan leader over the death of nearly 150 people after masked gunmen attacked the Garissa University College in eastern Kenya.
"There is no justification for this monstrous crime," Putin said in a message, published on the Kremlin website.
"Please accept by deep condolences over the multiple human deaths as a result of the attack on the Garissa University College by militants from the Al-Shabab extremist group," the Russian leader said.
The Russian president also asked his Kenyan counterpart to convey his condolences to the victims' families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
"We resolutely condemn terrorism in all its forms and support the Kenyan authorities' efforts to combat this threat," he said.
At least 147 students, teachers and other staff members were killed when militants of Somalia's Al-Shabab extremist group stormed the Garissa University College in eastern Kenya on April 2. Dozens of people were injured in the attack.
