"The geography of their exercises - exclusively the eastern flank of the alliance and the Arctic region - is proof of their anti-Russian stance," he said at the Moscow International Security Conference.
"Non-nuclear NATO countries are engaged in drills practicing the use of U.S. tactical nuclear armaments deployed in a number of European states," he said.
"I would like to remind NATO enthusiasts of joint nuclear arms control about the consequences of their unlimited aspiration for military dominance," Shoigu said.
The world will remember the consequences of the use of U.S. nuclear weapons against Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6-9, he said. "I can only guess what consequences a similar appetite for using nuclear weapons could have entailed for Europe if the U.S. Army had acquired them a bit earlier," the minister said.
