Follow the link to learn moreThe Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) has reported that its out-of-control Progress M-27 re-supply ship, launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on April 28, has burnt up as it re-entered the Earth's atmosphere.
"According to information provided by the national system for outer space monitoring, the spacecraft re-entered the dense layers of the atmosphere and burnt up," a Roscosmos spokesman told Interfax-AVN.
The Progress M-27 cargo carrier ceased to exist at 5:04 a.m. Moscow time on Friday, he said. It re-entered the Earth's atmosphere as it flew over the central part of the Pacific Ocean for the 160th time.
