"In his congratulatory telegram the Russian head of state expressed certainty that building a constructive relationship between Russia and Poland, based on the principles of genuine good neighborhood and respect for each other's interests, would foster stronger security and stability in Europe," the statement read.
The Russian president wished Duda success in his political activity.
The inauguration ceremony for the Polish president-elect will be held on August 6, the Polish TVN24 television channel said on Monday.
According to the latest figures, in the presidential run-off Duda secured the support of 52 percent of voters, while his rival, incumbent president Bronislaw Komorowski, won 48 percent. He has already admitted his defeat.
Turnout was 55.5 percent.
