Follow the link to learn moreThe Russian Interior Ministry staff, not including building security and maintenance staff, has been reduced by 110,000 persons, a decree issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was published on the official legal information portal on July 13, says.
"Set the maximal number of Russia Interior Ministry staff members [not including building security and maintenance staff] financed from federal budget allocations at 1,003,172," the decree says.
The document amends the presidential decree of May 5, 2014, in which the number of the Interior Ministry staff was 1,113,172. Thus, the Interior Ministry staff has been reduced by 110,000 persons.
According to the new decree, the Interior Ministry will have almost 836,000 direct interior affairs bodies officials, another 5,123 persons will fall into the category of federal civil servants and 162,224 people will fall into the employee category.
Funding has been provided from the budget for the implementation of the Interior Ministry decree.
The document takes effect on July 13.
