"At about 6:40 a.m. Moscow time a maneuver to avoid [a collision with] space debris was conducted. The danger was discovered in good time, the crew was promptly warned," the source said.
The engines of the Russian cargo spacecraft docked with ISS were fired to conduct the maneuver.
The station is currently inhabited by Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka, Mikhail Korniyenko, Oleg Kononenko and Sergei Volkov, NASA astronauts Scott Kelly and Kjell Lindgren, Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui, ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen and cosmonaut from Kazakhstan Aidyn Aimbetov.
