Follow the link to learn moreAn international group of investigators probing the reasons behind the Malaysian Boeing crash in Donbass, which includes Russian representatives, gathered in the Netherlands on Aug.10 to discuss the inquiry, the Dutch Security Council said.
Expert consultations are expected to take several days.
"During the meetings, which will be chaired by the Dutch Security Council, the investigative group will discuss progress in the investigation and will also visit the Gilze-Rijen Air Base in the Netherlands in order to inspect the reconstructed plane section," Security Council representative Sarah Vernoy told Interfax.
When asked by Interfax whether Russian representatives are participating in the consultations, Vernoy said: "Russia is invited, I cannot provide other information."
Such meetings were organized in 2014 as well, she said.
"These meetings are part of the procedure of the international investigation of air crashes as stipulated by the international civil aviation convention," Vernoy said.
