Follow the link to learn moreHaving flown non-stop over 5,000 kilometers, they brought to Syria over 80 tonnes of essentials, food, mattresses, blankets, beds, stoves for heating tents, kitchens for cooking, bed sheets, water tanks and various equipment for setting up a tent camp, the spokesman said.
At the airport, the humanitarian cargo was welcomed by Latakia province governor Ibrahim Khodr Al-Salem and local residents.
The governor thanked Russia for delivering the humanitarian aid for the Syrian population.
The entire cargo was handed over to Syria for setting up a tent camp to accommodate more than 1,000 Syrians who lost their homes as a result of hostilities.
