The Russian Defense Ministry and Syrian opposition leaders have set up coordinating groups for their joint cooperation against ISIS terrorists in Syria, said Col. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov, the head of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff.
"We have set up working coordinating groups, whose composition and location cannot be disclosed yet for understandable reasons. They will be working jointly to coordinate the efforts aimed at resolving the problems of fighting ISIS," Kartapolov told journalists on Nov. 3.
"Such close cooperation will enable us to combine the efforts of all government troops and other patriotic forces of the Syrian Arab Republic, which were previously in opposition, and act as a united front against the common enemy - international terrorism," the general said.
