Follow the link to learn moreRussian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov has dismissed the allegation made by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland that most of the airstrikes by the Russian aviation group in Syria target not terrorists but areas no longer controlled by the regime of Bashar Al-Assad.
"The Russian aviation group in Syria carries out strikes against terrorist infrastructure, not areas," Konashenkov told reporters on Nov. 5.
Russia has officially passed detailed maps to the military attaches of the anti-ISIS coalition led by the U.S., along with detailed information about the facilities and areas controlled by terrorists in Syria, he said.
"Neither the State Department, nor the Pentagon dismissed the information we provided. So, as they say, commentary is unnecessary here," Konashenkov said.
