The body of the Russian pilot killed in the attack of a Turkish F-16 fighter on the Turkish-Syrian border was sent from Turkey to Russia on Nov. 30, local media said.

The pilot's body had been transported from Syria to Turkey and then to a military hospital in Ankara. The body was delivered to the airport of the Turkish capital city from there.

The Russian Sukhoi Su-24 bomber engaged in the operation against ISIS in Syria was shot down by a Turkish F-16 fighter on November 24. The pilot was killed and the navigator was rescued.

Russian President Vladimir Putin dubbed the attack of the Turkish Air Force on the Russian warplane "a stab in the back by accomplices of terrorists" and said that the incident would have serious consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.
