Follow the link to learn moreRosselkhoznadzor starting on Dec. 7 is banning the supplies of fish products from four Lithuanian enterprises.
The service said this decision was made due to an inspection of the Lithuanian companies that was carried out in Sept. 2015 by Rosselkhoznadzor specialists and the department of veterinary and food monitoring of Belarus.
The ban concerns Viciunai ir partneriai (LT 68-11 production of fish products), Plunges kooperatine prekyba (LT 68-08, production, storage of fish, fish products), Norvelita (LT 72-09, [production of fish products), Baltijos delikatesai (LT 25-01, production of fish products.
In addition, Russia starting on Dec. 14 will halt the import of fish products from third countries, which are unloaded and temporarily stored in Lithuania. Only products that came from the producer country without opening the container during transit through Lithuania will be permitted.
"The opening of transport containers on the territory of Lithuania and breaking the seal are not permitted," Rosselkhoznadzor said in documents.
Fish supplies from Lithuania are banned in the framework of the food embargo introduced by Russia on Aug. 7, 2014. At the same time the import of canned goods did not fall under this ban.
