Two ships armed with Caliber-NK cruise missiles join Russian Black Sea Fleet

The Zelyony Dol and the Serpukhov fast-attack missile ships (Project 21631) joined the Russian Black Sea Fleet's combat-ready forces on Saturday, Cap. 1st Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachyov, a Black Sea Fleet spokesman, told Interfax.

"The ceremony of raising the St. Andrew flags on the ships started in Sevastopol at 10:00 a.m.," he said.

The Zelyony Dol and the Serpukhov fast-attack missile ships will significantly enhance the Black Sea Fleet's combat potential, as they are armed with Caliber-NK long-range cruise missiles. Vessels of the same class from Russia's Caspian Flotilla recently used the same missiles to strike targets belonging to terrorists in Syria.
