Follow the link to learn moreThe Russian State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia officially signed documents in Moscow on Thursday to establish a Russian-Serbian parliamentary cooperation commission, which, among other tasks, will help further promote political and economic ties between the two countries.
"This decision also reflects the new level of our cooperation," State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said at a meeting with Serbia's parliamentary delegation.
The adopted guidelines for this commission say that it will help to further bolster political, economic, social, culture and education ties between Russia and Serbia.
The document also announces both sides' readiness to cooperate at the level of their delegations within international organizations and conferences, as well as during consultations on issues of mutual interest.
It has also been decided that the commission will alternately meet in Russia and Serbia once a year.
