The number of Russian tourist arrivals to Thailand is expected to bounce back in 2016, a Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) official told the Bangkok Post.
TAT expects Russian tourist arrivals to rebound by the middle of 2016, as the Russian economy is expected to recover by then, Tanes Petsuwan, TAT’s executive director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East told the paper.
In the first nine months of 2015, arrivals from Russia to Thailand declined by 40 percent year-on-year to 579,462, according to the paper. The fall is in large part due to the devaluation of the ruble.
