Hungarian consul injured in road accident in Bashkortostan dies at hospital

Hungarian Consul General in Yekaterinburg Pal Fabian injured in a road accident in Bashkortostan on December 25 died at a district hospital on Dec. 29, Bashkortostan Health Ministry press secretary Svetlana Kuskarbekova told Interfax.

"The Hungarian consul general in Yekaterinburg seriously injured in a road accident died without regaining consciousness at a district hospital at 8 a.m. Moscow time today," Kuskarbekova said.

Forensic medical specialists will establish the cause of the diplomat's death, she said.

The diplomat's car collided with a truck on the 87th kilometer of the Kropachevo-Mesyagutovo-Achit road in the Duvansky district of Bashkortostan on Dec. 25. Fabian suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Mesyagutovo central district hospital in the Duvansky district.
