Follow the link to learn moreMost Russian track-and-field athletes are free from doping and are strictly controlled by international organizations, says Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko.
"Our team is mainly composed of diligent athletes, many of these athletes are honest and decent, they have worked on the international arena for decades. Eighty percent of our track-and-field athletes are in the international testing pool, and therefore it's groundless to accuse us of hiding athletes," Mutko told journalists in Moscow on Jan.16.
Russia is determined to reintegrate its athletics into international athletics, Mutko said. "This is a very important sport to us, and we are certainly very disappointed and are surely determined to return Russian athletics to the realm of international athletics," he said.
