Follow the link to learn moreA Syrian opposition delegation led by Riad Hijab has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming negotiations with Damascus in Geneva, says Khawla Matar, the director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Syria.
Speaking to Interfax, Matar said the office had received a letter from the Syrian opposition delegation saying that the delegation members would come to Geneva on Jan. 30, and this should happen in the second part of the day.
No meeting between the opposition delegation and UN officials is planned for Jan. 30, Matar said. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura is expected to meet with the delegation members on Sunday, she said.
