Austria intends to discuss the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project with Gazprom and has great interest in this project, Austrian Vice Chancellor Reinhold Mitterlehner said.
"During our visit we will have contact with Gazprom. We will discuss primarily economic issues connected with Nord Stream 2," Mitterlehner told journalists.
He said that Austria has a special interest in the implementation of this project. "The diversification of gas supplies is very important to us. And for us it is very important that our firm OMV participate in the implementation of this project," the vice chancellor said.
He also said that the issue of an exchange of assets [of OMV and Gazprom] concerns mutual relations between the enterprises and that these issues should be resolved first of all by the management of the relevant companies.
