Russian President Vladimir Putin met with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger at a presidential residence in Novo-Ogaryovo on Feb. 3, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
Kissinger, a prominent U.S. statesman, diplomat, and expert on international relations, served as secretary of state from 1973 to 1977. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973.
"You know that Putin and Kissinger have long maintained relations, they communicate regularly, using every opportunity to speak. Putin very much values this opportunity to discuss current issues in global politics, and to share views on the prospects of future developments," the president's press secretary said earlier this day.
