"O'Brian noted the important role of Russia in the provision of humanitarian access to blocked populated localities. He also spoke positively of Russia's arrangement of the first humanitarian air corridors to the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor, which is besieged by ISIS militants," says a report published on the ministry website.
O'Brian lauded the joint statement of Russia and the United States on the cessation of hostilities in Syria.
The UN Under Secretary General stressed that, "in case the truce is honored by all parties to the intra-Syrian conflict, this move can provide, among other things, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the needy," the report said.
